Family tragedy in Nevesinje: Siniša slit his mother Anđa's throat

An autopsy of Anđa Đerić (68) from Nevesinje, who was stabbed to death by her son Siniša (38) on Tuesday, has revealed that the unfortunate woman had more than 30 stab and cut wounds on her face and neck, reports the Patria news agency.

A source from Press involved in the investigation says that the elderly woman was butchered and that her son eventually slit her throat, indicating that at the time of the murder, he was most likely completely mentally disturbed.

This is also confirmed by statements from the unfortunate woman's neighbors, who claim that Đerić was completely disoriented after the murder and did not even realize that his dead mother was in the house, instead insisting that it was an unknown woman.

In the meantime, Đerić was questioned by the police and the District Prosecutor's Office in Trebinje. Investigators had great difficulty speaking with him, as he still does not remember many details that preceded the murder, nor the events after the crime.

The prosecutor has requested a one-month detention for Đerić, and a psychiatric evaluation will also be conducted, given that he has certain mental health issues for which he was previously treated.

Anđa Đerić was last seen alive on Tuesday before noon, when an acquaintance stopped by their house in the Nevesinje neighborhood of Gvozd. It is assumed that shortly after his departure, an argument broke out between mother and son, and that Siniša then brutally killed her.

That something strange was happening in the Đerić house was suspected by their relative Duško Radulović, who called them several times that day, but no one answered. After several unsuccessful attempts, Siniša finally answered the landline and, when asked where his mother was, said she had gone to their place. This seemed suspicious to Radulović, and around 4:30 PM he came to their house.

After prolonged ringing and knocking, Siniša finally opened the door and said he did not know where his mother was, but that there was an unknown woman in the house. Radulović entered the house and saw Anđa's body in the living room, next to the couch, in a pool of blood.

Neighbors of the Đerić family claim that Siniša began showing signs of mental instability immediately after the war and lived a reclusive life.
