Families, delegations, citizens pay tribute to those killed at Tuzla's Kapija, flowers also laid by UK Ambassador to BiH

(Patria) - Members of families, delegations, and citizens gathered this morning in Aleja mladosti in Tuzla on the 29th anniversary of the crime at Tuzla's Kapija. 71 people lost their lives.

29 years have passed since the act of aggression, carried out on the orders of war criminal Novak Đukić, when a shell fired from Serbian positions on Mount Ozren killed Tuzla's youth.

Flower laying is also planned at Kapija, as well as a commemoration at 11:00.

A siren will sound at 20:55, in memory of the moment when on 25 May 1995, a shell from Ozren cut short 71 young lives at Kapija.

The Kapija Memorial Centre (Patriotske lige 5) will be open to visitors on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 to 22:00.

At the memorial at Slana Banja, flowers were laid by members of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH Sevlid Hurtić, delegations of the Government and Assembly of Tuzla Canton, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence of BiH, a delegation of the Federal Parliament, the City of Tuzla, as well as numerous associations and citizens, who then proceeded to Kapija in the centre of Tuzla where they laid flowers and paid tribute to the murdered youth.
