Memić family organizes fourth protest on February 8

The family of the murdered young man Dženan Memić will organize a protest for the fourth time, which will be held on February 8, a year after Dženan was injured in Velika aleja in Ilidža and died on February 15, 2016, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Muriz Memić, Dženan's father, said he will not stop fighting for the truth about his son's death. The session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly held yesterday showed that there were numerous omissions in the work of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior and the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

Previous protests started in front of the SCC and ended in front of the building of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office and the Sarajevo Canton Government. This time, it is possible that it will be the building of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council or the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Memić believes that Alisa Mutap, who was with Dženan on the fateful night, knows the whole truth. She testified at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo but said she had amnesia and did not remember that night. At the next hearing on February 7, in the continuation of the trial of Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović, accused of causing and concealing a traffic accident in which Memić allegedly died, Muriz Memić and six expert witnesses will testify.

Memić also believes that the chief prosecutor Dalida Burzić does not want to reveal the truth because she told him on two occasions that Dženan was murdered.

The Sarajevo Canton Assembly adopted the report of the Security Commission, and it was concluded that the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Interior and the Sarajevo Canton Police Administration are required, within their competencies, to initiate a procedure on the responsibility of all those who committed certain omissions in the said case and to inform the Sarajevo Canton Assembly no later than six months.
