Disgraceful vote by MPs on abolishing flat-rate allowance

The Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Compensations in BiH Institutions (second reading), despite receiving the necessary support in the competent Finance and Budget Committee, and thus should have been on the agenda of today's session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA, did not happen. This bill was submitted to the parliamentary procedure by DF MP Maja Gasal Vražalica.

- At my insistence, a vote was held on including it on the agenda, and the voting results are humiliating. Until some, hopefully better and more responsible convocation, employees whose constitutional right to compensation for commuting to and from work is guaranteed will go as they know how. In parallel, it was proposed to abolish the MP's flat-rate allowance of 713 KM, which is nowhere and never legally defined, and the Audit Office constantly warns in its reports that the flat-rate allowance is paid, and it is not defined anywhere what this flat-rate allowance is, so after its definition it would be possible to define when it is justified and when not. 

I did not go in the direction of defining it, but rather abolishing the 713 KM for all professionally employed individuals. This is the first step by which responsible government shows solidarity with its people/citizens and introduces austerity measures starting with itself, not with the already impoverished people - said Gasal Vražalica.
