Flooded houses in Bosanska Dubica

Head of the Civil Protection of the municipality of Bosanska Dubica, Đuro Trubarac, confirmed last night that 20 households in the Knežica area were flooded, but that no evacuation of people from that area took place, reports the Patria news agency. 

He specified that the flooding of the area from Knežica to Međuvođe was caused by the high water level of the torrential river Knežica, which has been receding since last night.

"In the Knežica area, 20 households were flooded, no evacuation of people was carried out, but part of the livestock was evacuated," said Trubarac, adding that teams of Civil Protection and other competent services are on the ground, where the protection of people and property is being carried out.

According to his words, the water levels of all torrential tributaries of the Una River in the municipality of Bosanska Dubica have been slightly receding since last night.

Trubarac assessed that the overflowing of the torrential river Knežica caused greater material damage to the property and agricultural goods of the residents.

Members of the Ministry of Interior regulated traffic in several phases on the Međuvođe - Knežica road section due to water overflowing onto the roadways.
