Once again, decisions about Mostar are being made "under the table," we will never support that

Based on  unconfirmed reports in newspapers and  electronic media stating that the leaders of HDZ and SDA have reached an agreement on a solution for Mostar, we are forced to react and draw the public's attention to the fact that the citizens of  Mostar have once again found themselves in a situation where their fate is being decided „under the table“ and in an undemocratic manner, state the Municipal Committee of SDP BiH Mostar, as reported by the Patria news agency.  

-The ruling parties, for the sake of their own party interests, are once again adopting solutions that do not reflect the will of the citizens. We have persistently insisted that it is necessary to implement the Decision of the Constitutional Court  in case number U 9/09 and create a minimal  legal framework that would enable the holding of elections, while  the city's organization itself should be decided by newly elected councilors in the capacity in which they won votes.

SDP BiH will not  support a solution that has emerged  as a product of narrow party interests or calculations. Taught by past  experience of Mostar being governed by HDZ and SDA, we are not  convinced of its prosperous future.

Many facts support this statement, such as  the dysfunctional City Administration, five public utility companies, two water supply systems, uneven development of certain parts of the city, and as a particular example  of the City Administration's dysfunction, the poorly planned and organized works on the construction of the collector and sewerage network, which have led to a complete traffic collapse in the city.

SDP still firmly stands by the principles of Mostar as a unified city organized within a single municipality, in accordance with the interests and needs of all its citizens, it was announced from the Municipal Committee of SDP BiH Mostar.
