Sleepless nights again for many in BiH: Evacuations due to floods in TK

Rain again hit most of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the afternoon hours yesterday, causing many settlements in the Zenica-Doboj, Sarajevo, and Tuzla cantons to be flooded again, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

According to data from the cantonal Civil Protection Administrations of the Federation of BiH, the situation is currently most difficult in the Tuzla Canton. Many road routes have been cut off again due to landslides and mudslides. Several settlements are under water.

In the municipality of Lukavac, the situation is most severe in the localities of Orahovica, Turija, Prokosovići, as well as in the town of Lukavac itself. Many buildings have been flooded.

In Srebrenik, firefighters evacuated several families. Local streams and rivers also overflowed in Banovići.

The situation is difficult again in Željezno Polje. The flood has cut off road communication in this locality, where dozens of houses were destroyed due to a landslide in May this year, and residents fear further landslides tonight as well, reports NAP.
