Repeat elections for President of Republika Srpska in 17 electoral units to be held on February 8

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session adopted a Decision on calling and holding repeat early elections for the President of Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 electoral units as follows:

Repeat early elections for the President of Republika Srpska will be held on February 8, 2026.

Funds to secure the exercise of the powers of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the implementation of the repeat early elections will be provided from the budget of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with Article 1.2a paragraph (2) and Article 1.2b of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Article 11, paragraphs (7) and (8) of the Law on Financing of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within 15 days
from the date of adoption of today's decision, and shall be paid into the Single Treasury Account of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The request for securing 600,000 KM necessary for the implementation of the repeat early elections for the President of Republika Srpska will be submitted today to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will adopt and publish the Instruction on deadlines and sequence of electoral activities for the repeat early elections after funds for the implementation of the repeat early elections are secured in accordance with Article 1.2a of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The repeat elections are conducted based on the same candidate lists and the same extracts from the Central Voters' Register that were used in the annulled elections.
