Repeat Elections in Stolac: 11,404 Voters Decide on Mayor and Councilors

Tomorrow, repeat elections for the municipal mayor and Municipal Council will be held in Stolac, Patria reports.

A total of 11,404 voters will decide between two candidates for mayor, Stjepan Bošković (HDZ BiH) and Mato Komšić (SDP BiH). The Central Election Commission of BiH announced that 14 political entities have nominated 68 individuals for the Municipal Council.

Regarding these elections, the CEC has issued a special instruction for 25 of its officials to monitor and control them. The name of the candidate from the Initiative for Stolac, Salmir Kaplan, was removed from the mayoral candidate list by a CEC decision.

For 26 years, the mayor of the town on the Bregava River has been from HDZ BiH.

Moore called on citizens to go to the polls

The Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jonathan Moore, called on the citizens of Stolac to go to tomorrow's elections and exercise their democratic right to elect their representatives in the municipal government. At tomorrow's elections, the citizens of Stolac will have the support of the international community through the temporary OSCE office in that municipality.
