Denis Barta, a 15-year-old from Sarajevo, needs only 5,500 KM more for doctors to restore his sight, confirmed the boy's mother Eldina, for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
Barta has been blind since birth and has been trying to raise money for an operation for a long time, which is to be performed in a hospital in Italy.
The boy suffers from autism and epilepsy, but despite this, he writes lyrics, plays and sings, and has recorded a music DVD titled "Music is my light", which his mother is now selling in catering establishments to raise money for her son's operation.
Denis was born in Italy, where his parents lived previously, when his mother was six months pregnant. He weighed only 520 grams. After birth, doctors performed three operations on his eyes and one on his heart, but they did not manage to restore his sight.
The talented boy, despite his serious illness, performed with the Italian legend Andrea Bocelli.
