Pomozi.ba helped refugees at six border crossings in 24 hours

On Saturday, the association “Pomozi.ba” from Sarajevo and WAHA International from Paris, in cooperation with Bima Medical Association from Sarajevo, Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation from Belgrade and the association Sačuvajmo bebe (Let's Save Babies) from Belgrade organized an action to provide medical assistance and distribute humanitarian packages for refugees from Middle Eastern countries, reports the Patria News Agency.

Medical staff, doctors, nurses, and activists from Sarajevo, numbering 50, met with organizers and activists from Paris and Belgrade at 5 AM. After a brief meeting at the hotel, they split into teams and headed to their locations. Pomozi.ba, along with its partner organizations, was present at 6 locations, i.e., border crossings: Preševo, Opatovac, Tabanovac, Šid, Beremend, and Dimitrovgrad.

Approximately 1,000 patients were examined that day, and at three points, entertainment activities were organized – clowns, magicians, and toys were distributed to the youngest. Simultaneously, 2,000 basic hygiene packages, sanitary pads, diapers, 1,570 raincoats, biscuits, protein bars, juices, and water were distributed. After the action, which lasted the entire day (24 hours), all participants reconvened at the hotel in the late evening hours in Belgrade to summarize their impressions and exchange information.

-       Given that this was an extremely demanding project, where everything had to be coordinated down to the smallest detail because it involved 6 locations, we are extremely satisfied with the work that was done. We would also like to thank our friends from the American organization “NudaySyria” which provided funds for the purchase of medicines and medical supplies. – stated the Pomozi.ba Association.

This is a continuation of the project “First us, then them” by the association “Pomozi.ba”, which aims to help refugees from Middle Eastern countries who are still in transit countries.
