Aid for utility companies from flooded areas

The Management Board of the Association of Employers of the Utility Economy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized the collection of aid for the members of this association, which are from the areas of flood-affected municipalities in FBiH, it was announced by this association, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Almost two months after the floods, local utility services from many flooded municipalities in BiH are still unable to fully bring the cities under control, as their material and human capacities do not allow it.

Therefore, the Management Board of the Association of Employers of the Utility Economy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized the campaign "Utility Workers for Utility Workers", which aims to help utility companies from affected areas.

The initiative has already shown its first results. Utility companies from Zenica, Konjic, Visoko, Mostar have donated valuable material and monetary donations to their colleagues from Maglaj, Olovo, Žepče, Orašje, Odžak and other affected municipalities.

- JP Vodovod i kanalizacije from Zenica handed over a towing vehicle with a high-pressure pump for unclogging sewage pipes to the utility company Bioštica from Olovo – announced the Association of PKP, adding that this is just one of a series of donations with which their members have helped their colleagues from affected municipalities.

- Employees of the utility company from Mostar gave up one day's salary for the utility company from Olovo, thus collecting more than 4,000 KM – they added.

The Association of Employers of the Utility Economy of FBiH has formed a Coordination Body that will direct aid according to the requests of local utility companies based on priorities, and the use of these funds will be made available to local utility companies in the field.

- We call on all utility companies from flooded areas to submit their needs for urgent and necessary equipment and other assistance for the purpose of repairing damage in their areas and normalizing life – stated the PKP Association, reports Patria.
