Aid continues to arrive, efforts underway to normalise the situation

The Operational Communications Centre continues to operate 24 hours a day at full capacity, said Samir Agić, Assistant Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Protection and Rescue, for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

- We are working on coordinating international aid units that are in the affected areas. We have ten teams from ten countries. Work is underway on water purification, pumping where necessary, everything is being done to normalise life in these areas – said Agić, adding that activities are being prepared to clear the affected areas together with around 500 members of EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH.

- In a few days, a plane with aid from Russia should also arrive. The delegation of the United Arab Emirates is helping BiH in several ways. They are communicating with BiH companies and buying products from them, which they distribute to citizens – Agić stated.

He said that everything is being done to establish a normal functioning system for all institutions.

- We are satisfied with what has been achieved and we are moving forward, until we can say the Ministry of Security has done a good job. Incidentally, the Ministry of Security is the main contact point for coordinating international forces. So, ten teams from ten countries are still present in BiH, and aid continues to arrive – said Agić.
