Half-hour strike by doctors and dentists in FBiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Doctors and dentists employed in healthcare institutions in the Federation of BiH, around 4,500 of them, held a half-hour warning strike today in all cantons, because the issue of the representativeness of their professional union has not yet been resolved. The protest of doctors and dentists held in Sarajevo in May this year also yielded no results, and the warnings that we are losing doctors and that the crisis will deepen were not taken seriously by anyone. 

Otherwise, members of the Healthcare Workers' Union have also been on strike since September 2nd, having failed to reach an agreement with the KS Government regarding salary increases, or rather, the Branch Collective Agreement. From September 24th, they are also announcing a more radical approach and gathering in front of the KS Government building.

And while the consequences of the strike are most felt by patients who cannot even schedule a doctor's appointment because only emergency patients are treated during the strike and therapy is prescribed for chronic patients, according to announcements, even that will be suspended. Only emergency patients will receive assistance.
