Flowers laid and tribute paid to President Izetbegović

The anniversary of the death of the President of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegović, was marked today at the Kovači martyrs' cemetery with the recitation of Fatiha, a minute of silence, and the laying of flowers in the presence of family members, numerous figures from the political and public life of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Flowers were laid on Izetbegović's grave by family members, a representative of the Cabinet of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović (who is officially absent), a delegation from the Party of Democratic Action, the ambassadors of the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and numerous other delegations.

The religious program was led by imams of the Sarajevo Majlis of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hafiz Mensur ef. Malkić, chief imam of the Bey's Mosque, and Imam Sadrudin ef. Išerić of the Emperor's Mosque.

A large number of citizens attended the commemoration of the 11th anniversary of Izetbegović's death.
