Bosnia and Herzegovina's position in geopolitical developments: The academic community in the foreground

(Patria) - It was highlighted today at Krug 99 that Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing serious security and political challenges, both regionally and globally. The introducer, Prof. Dr. Sandi Dizdarević, Associate Professor, emphasized the importance of the academic community in shaping political decisions based on scientifically founded facts.

Speaking about geopolitical developments, Prof. Dizdarević pointed to the aggressive policies of certain states, including Israel, and the current war against Iran, the escalation of which could have far-reaching consequences in security, economic, energy, and political terms.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite facing external influences, secessionist aspirations, and political instability, must continue its path towards membership in the European Union and NATO. It is particularly important to reject the malign influence coming from the region that threatens the stability and progress of the country," said Dizdarević.

Prof. Dizdarević also warned about the manipulation of political and religious narratives by certain actors, through which they attempt to justify extremism and terrorism for political purposes.

The role of the academic community in BiH was particularly emphasized, which, by analyzing exact scientific and legal facts, enables politicians to develop strategies for preserving territorial integrity, sovereignty, peace, and security.

"Pro-Bosnian political leaders should use scientific knowledge in communication with international and regional actors to protect the security and stability of BiH," concluded Prof. Dizdarević.
