Political absurdity in Bosnia and Herzegovina: SDP to dismiss Hurtic whom they themselves proposed!?

By: A. Čorbo-Zećo

The news that the Presidency of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) adopted a conclusion calling for the dismissal of the Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Sevlid Hurtic (BH Greens) perfectly fits the political chaos currently reigning in BiH.

The ruling parties have gotten so carried away that they have started dismissing themselves. Because, Saša Grbić, a member of the SDP Presidency, explaining the initiative to dismiss Hurtic, stated that it was an initiative calling for the dismissal of SNSD ministers!? And all this within the framework of negotiations for a new majority.

And this is a classic example of political confusion and overlapping interests within the ruling majority in BiH. The SDP is now trying to distance itself from its own personnel choice, justifying it with new political agreements and the recomposition of power.

Because Hurtic was not proposed by SNSD, but precisely by the SDP, more precisely, Grbić himself, on behalf of the Movement for the State, gave his signature for his appointment.

Otherwise, according to the agreement at the time, someone from the Republika Srpska (RS) entity should have taken the position of Minister for Human Rights and Refugees, but not be a Serb.

The SDP has not yet announced the exact date of submitting the initiative to dismiss Hurtic, whom they themselves proposed.
