Politicians in Power Deceive the People, Dribble Past Each Other, and Now Lie to Foreign Diplomats

The authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have crossed all boundaries of serious politics. Previously, they only deceived citizens from one election to the next, and they dribble past each other daily. Now, even the authority of high-ranking foreign diplomats is not important to them, writes the Patria news agency. 

The ambassador of the friendly United States of America, Maureen Cormack, failed to convince the leaders of the SDA, SBB, and HDZ to reach an agreement on local elections in Mostar and to comply with the ruling of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The great powers stopped the four-year bloody war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and now they cannot secure that, after 21 years of living in peace, basic human rights in the country begin to be respected. They were violated less in the years after Dayton than is the case now.

If Izetbegović, Radončić, and Čović did not heed the requests and proposals of Ambassador Cormack, does that mean they do not respect her, nor the country that sent her to Sarajevo?

Many serious people wonder how citizens will respect and appreciate the ambassador if their political representatives do not. And it would be frivolous to even think that the USA did not send a quality and proven diplomat to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as Ambassador Cormack has shown herself to be in the past year and a half of her mandate.

The majority of citizens of this suffering and plundered country, which is still being "torn apart" by Bosnian politicians, place their greatest hope precisely in foreigners. If they do not clear the sky above Bosnia and Herzegovina, it will be difficult for Bosnian politicians, who, as all analyses show, care only about their personal interests, to disperse the clouds.

The messages of ambassadors from large countries have always been respected in this country. And meetings at embassies never ended without a solution. Nor did people go to embassies just "casually." Once, Bosnian politicians counted who received and who did not receive an invitation from the US Embassy for the July 4th celebration. Not receiving an invitation was a clear message to every politician.

Izetbegović, Radončić, and Čović mustered the strength to say, three full hours after talks at the American ambassador's residence, that the political parties are not ready to set aside their initial positions on Mostar.

The Bosnian authorities also humiliated the head of the European Union Delegation, Lars Gunnar Wigemark, after a meeting with him in East Sarajevo. What Izetbegović and Dodik agreed upon before Wigemark regarding the Coordination Mechanism ceased to be valid just 48 hours later. Dodik brutally deceived Wigemark. He signed the Coordination Mechanism in front of him to get money from the IMF, and then changed his mind two days later. It is important to note that the Letter of Intent was sent to Washington that same evening, so that Bosnia and Herzegovina could receive 550 million euros, i.e., take on a new huge loan.

What was valid in the cafe before Wigemark ceased to be valid in the parking lot. Dodik did all this at the request of his friend Čović.

The practice of disrespecting ambassadors in Bosnia and Herzegovina was introduced precisely by Dodik. For him, the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valentin Inzko, has long been "just a common blabbermouth." Dodik did not spare the American ambassador either, who has been "politically ignoring" him since her arrival in Bosnia and Herzegovina due to his anti-Dayton activities.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, everything is losing credibility and nothing is relevant anymore. If the current authorities have managed to undermine the authority of the world powers that rule the Planet, the question is who and in what way can oppose them at this moment.

For Bosnia and Herzegovina, the most important thing now is to start calling things by their real names. Perhaps in this way a solution to the crisis will emerge sooner. Because, whatever was thought about foreign diplomats until now, it is increasingly clear that they no longer have the inventiveness to deal with the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This precisely suits the current structure of power, which is finalizing the plunder of the remaining public companies and natural resources of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes Patria.
