He doused his ex-partner with thinner and set her on fire!

Shortly after midnight in the Belgrade settlement of Batajnica, a forty-year-old woman was seriously injured in a fire on the second floor of a building when her ex-partner tried to kill her by dousing her with thinner, after which he set her on fire.

The forty-year-old victim, identified by the initials U.S., was unaware of the attacker's intentions, as she let him into the building, RTS reported, as cited by Patria.

The attacker, with whom U.S. had previously been in a relationship, climbed to the apartment on the second floor, doused the unfortunate woman with thinner, and set her on fire. While fleeing, he broke the building's entrance door because the intercom was out of order and he did not have a key.

The woman certainly would not have survived if a neighbor, alerted by the noise, had not come out to see what was happening and found the woman in flames, extinguished the fire, and called an ambulance, which transported her to the Emergency Center in critical condition.

The woman lived in a rented apartment with her minor son. The fire was extinguished by 11 firefighters with three vehicles, and the attacker has been arrested.
