Police identify minor who glorified camps, prosecution qualifies case as spreading hatred

(Patria) - The Prijedor Police Administration (PU) has identified a minor who wore and displayed a t-shirt glorifying the existence of three Prijedor camps at a music festival on August 1st.

The festival was held during the commemoration of the anniversaries of the closure of "Omarska" and "Keraterm".

In their statement, they said they had informed the prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Prijedor, who qualified the case as the criminal offense of "public incitement and instigation of violence and hatred".

"Under the supervision of the acting prosecutor, police officers are taking measures and actions in accordance with the Law on the Protection and Treatment of Children and Minors in Criminal Proceedings.

After the completion of the case, a report for the committed criminal offense will be submitted to the competent prosecutor's office," the statement from the PU Prijedor reads.

According to the Law on the Protection and Treatment of Children and Minors in Criminal Proceedings of Republika Srpska, a minor is a child who has reached the age of 14 but has not reached the age of 18 at the time of committing the criminal offense, and against whom criminal sanctions and other measures may be imposed.

Public incitement and instigation of violence and hatred, according to the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska, is punishable by a fine or imprisonment from three to 12 years.

Let us recall that the young man with a shaved head, according to photos from the music festival in Prijedor held in early August, wore and displayed a t-shirt with a Celtic cross and the inscription "Prijedor - A town without three camps is a shame" in the front row next to the stage.
