Police officers, educators, civil servants before KS Government on November 30

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On Tuesday, November 30, members of six unions dissatisfied with the proposed base salary of 400 KM will gather in front of the KS Government building while the KS Assembly session is held to discuss the Draft Budget for 2022.

The protest rally will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and a warning strike in organizational units on the same day from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.

The warning strike is organized by the Independent Union of Primary Education of FBiH - Cantonal Board KS together with the Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Upbringing, Science and Culture of BiH – Cantonal Board KS, the Union of Civil Servants and Employees in State Administration Bodies, Judiciary and Public Institutions in FBiH – Coordination Board Sarajevo, the KS Police Union, the University of Sarajevo Union, and the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees of KS.

The organizers announce that during the protest and warning strike, workers will express their dissatisfaction with the attitude of the Sarajevo Canton Government regarding the non-compliance with legal procedures, the failure to determine the amount, and the non-signing of the Agreement on the base salary for 2022 in the amount of 400 KM.

The organizers will address the protest participants in front of the KS Government building, and together with the attendees, they will send clear messages to the Sarajevo Canton Government that the unions will not stop with radical union actions, even if they have to organize a general strike in the Sarajevo Canton.

KS Prime Minister Edin Forto previously told the unions that they could continue discussions in December.

The Coordination of Unions receiving salaries from the Sarajevo Canton budget based on the Law and Collective Agreements sent a request to the Sarajevo Canton Government on November 24, 2021, to withdraw the Draft Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2022 from the assembly procedure.

In addition, on the same day, requests were delivered through the protocol to the Chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly and the Collegium of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, requesting that the Draft Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2022 be "removed" from the agenda of the 45th session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.

If there is no understanding, the unions are also prepared for a general strike.
