Attempted profit from flour, inspections closed such businesses

Out of 189 reports received by the Federal Government on open phone lines from May 18 to 27, the most reports concerned the price increase of flour, with 44 reports. Regarding the price increase of other items such as water, cleaning supplies and hygiene products, there were 39 reports, the Federal Government announced, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Namely, the Government of FBiH published the numbers of open phone lines and invited citizens to report any information about unjustified price increases, especially for basic foodstuffs and sanitary supplies, as well as cases that have elements of theft and robbery during the time when BiH is fighting devastating floods.

A certain number of reports, the FBiH Government announced, also concerned alleged irregularities in the distribution of humanitarian aid to endangered persons. A total of 35 reports were recorded concerning the alleged poor distribution of aid, in which the persons in charge of distribution remained anonymous or did not represent any known organization.

Among the reports, six concerned the non-issuance of receipts in stores, five concerned landslide dangers, four concerned the resale of humanitarian aid, one report concerned offers of accommodation for endangered persons, and 11 reports concerned break-ins and robberies. In addition to these, 10 calls were recorded regarding problems with border crossings for trucks carrying humanitarian aid.

The reports were forwarded directly to the Prime Minister, the Government Secretary, and the Federal Minister of Education, who will, according to assessment and need, forward the reports to other federal administrative bodies.
