Petition launched: Split in Živinice SDA as well

After four SDA MPs left the party's caucus in the Parliament of BiH yesterday, calling into question the existence of the parliamentary majority, the situation within the party is also becoming complicated in some other places, Patria reports.

Two months have passed since the local elections, and the storm in the Živinice SDA does not subside. After winning ten seats in the Živinice Municipal Council and losing the mayoral position, party cadres are increasingly dissatisfied. Conflicts occur at almost every session of the municipal or executive board.

According to a reliable source and interlocutor who provided us with details of the situation in and around the Živinice SDA, the introduction of a trusteeship in the Municipal Board of the Party of Democratic Action is imminent. This would be the second time after the party was taken over two years ago by “political thugs” who shaped politics in local taverns.

 - An extensive petition campaign is underway within the municipal organization of the SDA, and so far over 2,000 signatures have been collected, which is enough to introduce a trusteeship in this party. The dissatisfaction of the broader membership of the Živinice SDA has produced an Initiative Committee for the normalization of the situation in the Municipal Board of the SDA Živinice. This step was decided upon by a group of long-standing members and activists, some of whom are founders of the party, youth, women, and respected citizens of the municipality, with the aim of restoring the dignity of the party that was taken away by defectors and narrowly interested politicians. The initiative has been joined by some current members of the municipal board and the Executive Board of the SDA, presidents of local communities, and the Assembly of the Municipal Board of the SDA.

The leadership of the SDA Živinice, i.e., a narrow circle of members of the Executive Board led by individuals who are not even members of the SDA, but call themselves “friends” of the SDA, have taken it upon themselves to make decisions on all important matters outside the party bodies, decisions that have already caused enormous damage to the party and led to this situation. It is obvious that this leadership and their mentors outside the SDA will give everything just to preserve the Health Center Živinice; the wider public knows very well why - our interlocutor said.

Falsified results

This group, which has privatized the party, has been convincing the public after the local elections that the SDA is the winning party, so to mask the truth, they created an unnatural and dysfunctional coalition. This is supported by recent events at sessions of the Municipal Council, where the current coalition has blocked the account of the Municipality of Živinice.

The current leadership has led to a decline in the party's reputation, and the results in the local elections were not achieved either.

- The current leadership lost the mayoral position, the position of Chairman of the Municipal Council, numerous members, and certain companies. In the past two years, they have lost the support of Živinice's business entities, and cadres have been favored along family lines and for work along narrow party lines with the aim of realizing certain projects from which everyone benefited - points out a well-informed source on the situation in the SDA.

Obstructions by the mayor

- The intentions of this SDA structure are clear, as are those of their mentors, who under suspicious circumstances formed a majority in the Municipal Council of Živinice and “bought” certain politicians from other parties, all with the sole aim of obstructing the work of the current mayor, who was elected by the will of the citizens of Živinice - he claims.

Because of all the above, as well as the general situation in the party, activists, members of the Executive Board and Municipal Board of the SDA Živinice, founders of the party, dissatisfied and concerned for the fate of the SDA, want to inform the public about the unforeseeable consequences if the privatization of the SDA is not stopped and it is not put on the right track.
