
(Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Directorate is conducting increased controls of traffic participants from December 15th until January 15th, with a special emphasis on driving under the influence of alcohol and driving before obtaining a driving license.
Given that it is the holiday season, there is an increased number of tourists in Sarajevo, as well as local guests and diaspora. Thus, on Monday afternoon, a traffic collapse occurred, and it took up to two hours to travel from the city to Ilidža.
On Wednesday, December 31st, there will be a temporary change in traffic flow due to the public New Year's 2026 celebration, which will be managed by police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Directorate.
On Wednesday, December 31st, 2025, from 2:30 PM until January 1st, 2026, at 6:00 AM, traffic will be temporarily suspended in Kotromanića, Kalmija Baruha, dr. Safeta Mujića, Vrbanja, Mustajbega Fadilpašića, Vilsonovo šetalište streets, and in the service road around the shopping center. Traffic will be allowed in both directions on Franje Račkog and dr. Safeta Mujića streets, especially in the part directing vehicles towards Zmaja od Bosne street.
