(Patria) - Following New Year's Eve and an increased number of interventions successfully carried out by colleagues and other duty services, increased police patrols remain in effect, as previously announced. Due to low temperatures, icy conditions are possible on sections where the road surface is damp or wet, while fog reduces visibility in places, especially in valleys and along river courses. We ask drivers for extra caution, to adjust their speed to road conditions, and wish them happy and safe travels in this year 2026.
On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.
At border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic is occasionally increasing, but for now, it is proceeding with delays of up to 30 minutes.
Until January 2, 2026, until midnight, the transport of explosives is prohibited on the roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Due to passenger registration under the new European Union entry and exit system (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.
The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. From December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all vehicle categories. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
