Increased vehicle frequency on roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in urban areas

(Patria) - Vehicle frequency has increased on all major road routes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is particularly busy in urban areas.

BIHAMK advises drivers to drive with maximum caution, especially on sections where vehicle queues often form and where traffic is slowed. They also ask other road users to respect all regulations.

Light snow is falling in western Bosnia, and on the road sections Ripač-Bosanski Petrovac-Ključ, Drvar-Bosanski Petrovac, and Ključ-Sanski Most - there is occasional snow on the road.

Fog is reducing visibility on the mountain passes Rostovo (Bugojno-Novi Travnik) and Makljen (Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje-Prozor).

Due to works in the Bijela Vlaka tunnel, on the A-1 motorway section, direction Bijača-Počitelj, traffic is moving slowly, only in the driving lane.

Due to the implementation of cable sewage works on the A-1 motorway section Visoko-Podlugovi, the driving and emergency lanes are closed to traffic.

Construction of a noise barrier is underway on the A-1 motorway section Podlugovi-Sarajevo sjever, due to which traffic is diverted to the overtaking lane.

On the main road Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

Works are ongoing on the main road Kladanj-Stupari, due to which traffic is one-way, with alternating passage of vehicles, every day (except Sunday) from 7 AM to 5 PM.

Works are also active on the main road Bileća-Trebinje (at the locality of Žudojevići).

Increased passenger vehicle traffic at the border crossings Velika Kladuša, Izačić, Bosanska Kostajnica, Gradina, Bosanska Gradiška, Bosanski Brod, and Orašje entering Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At other border crossings, passenger vehicles are currently waiting 10 to 30 minutes to cross the border.

On the occasion of Catholic Christmas, the transport of explosives is prohibited in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina until midnight tonight.

Due to passenger registration under the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons.

From 2.12.2025, Karakaj border crossing is open for all vehicle categories. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
