(Patria) - Roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina are passable, without major disruptions or traffic difficulties. Fog and low clouds reduce visibility in valleys and along river courses, and we also warn about the possibility of landslides of earth and stones onto the roadway. Traffic frequency is increased on main roads, as well as approaches to cities. We appeal to drivers to adjust their driving and speed to the road conditions, and to pay special attention when passing through school and residential zones. We also ask other traffic participants to adhere to traffic regulations.
Movement of all vehicles across the bridge on the Dobro Polje-Miljevina main road is prohibited. Vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons can use the roads over Grepak or Kalinovik (there is 19 km of gravel road), while trucks must use the route via Rogatica and Ustipraca.
Construction of a noise barrier is underway on the A-1 Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi section of the highway, due to which traffic is diverted to the overtaking lane.
Due to ongoing soil monitoring works on the A-1 Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica section of the highway, in the area of the Lepenica interchange and the Igman tunnel, traffic is moving in both directions on the right lane.
On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is permitted for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.
At border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are up to 30 minutes.
Due to the registration of passengers under the new European Union entry and exit system (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer waiting times at border crossings are possible.
The Brcko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing will be open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
