Increased vehicle traffic at several border crossings on exit from BiH

(Patria) - Increased vehicle traffic is reported at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Doljani, Kamensko, Velika Kladuša, Novi Grad, Dubica, Gradina, Orašje and Gabela Polje. At other border crossings, passenger vehicles are currently not waiting longer than 10 to 30 minutes.

Due to road rehabilitation works, the A-1 motorway section Kakanj-Lašva (3 km long) is closed, and vehicles are being redirected in both directions along the opposite carriageway.

On the A-1 motorway sections: Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi, Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica and Bijača-Počitelj (Hercegovina bridge), due to ongoing works, traffic is diverted into the overtaking lane.

On the main roads: Dobro Polje-Miljevina, Tuzla-Bijeljina and Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, while for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes traffic remains suspended.

On the main road M-5, border crossing Izačić-Bihać, reconstruction works are being carried out on the bridge over the Mrižnica stream. Vehicles are being redirected to a temporary bypass (bypass) in the immediate vicinity of the works, with alternating passage.

Rehabilitation works have begun on the overpass on the main road Bihać-Ripač, at the Orljani site. For now, there will be no changes on the main road, but the turn-off from the main road towards the settlement of Ribić-Orljani will be closed.

Works are underway to replace the expansion joint on the Ribićki bridge, on the main road Konjic-Jablanica. This is a short section (20m), and traffic is moving slowly, in one lane.

On the main road Srbac-Derventa, due to rehabilitation works, a traffic suspension is planned until the end of June. During the suspension, vehicles will be redirected to the alternative route Srbac-Prnjavor-Derventa.

Due to passenger registration under the new system for entry and exit from European Union countries (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer waiting times are possible at border crossings.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. As of 2 December 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all categories of vehicles. At the Šepak border crossing, traffic is prohibited for all freight vehicles.
