Increased vehicle traffic on roads, especially towards the south of BiH

(Patria) - Driving conditions this morning are favorable in most of the country, traffic is on dry or wet roads, with generally good visibility. However, drivers are asked to drive with maximum caution and to adjust their driving to the current road conditions. Due to the May Day holidays, increased vehicle traffic is expected at local picnic areas, and traffic jams were already recorded this morning at the exit from Sarajevo.

Due to active landslides, we highlight the A-1 highway section Tarčin-Lepenica, as well as the main roads Sarajevo-Foča (at locations Sijeračke stijene and Tuhalji) and Gacko-Tjentište (between the Čemerno and Surdup tunnels).

Works are underway on the A-1 highway section Visoko-Podlugovi, as well as on the main roads: Olovo-Olovske Luke, Sarajevo-Pale, Gnojnice-Nevesinje (Dračevice), and Jablanica-Mostar (Donja Jablanica).

Traffic is still suspended on the main road Jablanica-Blidinje due to road damage.

Due to an active landslide, traffic is interrupted on the regional roads Vrbaška-Mrakovica (in the Vučijak quarry area) and Ugljevik-Glavičice, in the village of Ugljevik.

Increased vehicle traffic in both directions is observed at the Gradiška border crossing, and at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Doljani border crossing. Long waits are also at the Velika Kladuša, Gradina, and Brod border crossings upon entering our country. At other border crossings, waiting times do not exceed 30 minutes. Due to bridge damage, the Brčko border crossing can only be used by pedestrians.

Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tons of maximum permissible weight at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Trucks over 5 tons are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use the Šepak border crossing. Trucks can travel through the Šepak border crossing from 9 AM to 1 PM and from 10 PM to 6 AM (on weekends, they can cross between 10 PM and 6 AM).

On the occasion of International Labour Day, the transport of explosives in Bosnia and Herzegovina is prohibited until May 2nd at 12 AM.
