Increased traffic of freight vehicles at the entrance to BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Traffic of freight vehicles entering our country is increased at the border crossings of Bosanska Gradiška and Bosanski Brod. There are no long waits at border crossings for passenger vehicles.

"We remind you that in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Serbia and Montenegro have closed all border crossings to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Entry into these countries is allowed only to their citizens, foreigners with registered residence, and freight vehicle drivers," BIHAMK stated.

Border crossings with Croatia are currently functional for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and detailed checks of passengers and goods are being carried out. The exception are passengers who have stayed in highly risky countries (China, Iran, Italy, South Korea) in the last 14 days, as well as countries: Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Bahrain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, England, Netherlands, Sweden, and the Bela Krajina region in Slovenia. They will be held in 14-day isolation.

We appeal to drivers to travel within BiH only in necessary situations and to adhere to coronavirus protection measures.

On the Zenica-Nemila main road, traffic through the Vranduk tunnel is two-way from 5 AM to 9 PM. From 9 PM to 12:30 AM, vehicles are allowed to pass alternately, while from 12:30 AM to 5 AM, traffic through the tunnel is suspended. During the suspension, vehicles up to 7.5 tons of total weight can use the detour through the settlement of Tetovo, and vehicles over 7.5 tons can use the alternative routes Doboj-Šićki Brod-Sarajevo and Žepče-Zavidovići-Olovo-Sarajevo.

On the Jajce-Crna Rijeka main road in Ugarak, due to renovation works from 7 AM to 4 PM, there are occasional half-hour suspensions (with 15-minute vehicle passage). After 4 PM, traffic on this section is alternating, one lane.

Traffic suspension due to renovation works is in effect from 9 AM to 3 PM on the Crna Rijeka-Mrkonjić Grad regional road (on the Crna Rijeka-Bjelajce section).

Among other roads with ongoing works, we highlight the main roads: Sarajevo-Trnovo (Krupac), Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje-Prozor, Grude-Ljubuški, and Jablanica-Mostar (Potoci).

Traffic is on dry pavement, and we warn of frequent landslides on numerous sections. We advise more cautious driving and remind you that winter equipment is legally mandatory.
