Increased Traffic Intensity at the End of August, Congestion at Borders with Croatia and Montenegro

(Patria) - On the last Friday of August, increased traffic is expected throughout the country, especially towards the south due to returning tourists and the end of annual leave. Congestion and longer delays are being recorded at border crossings with Croatia and Montenegro, and drivers are advised to be patient and check conditions before departing.

Traffic on most roads is proceeding without delays, but morning fog and roadworks are present on several sections – A1 motorway Podlugovi–Sarajevo sjever, main roads Semizovac–Olovo and Jablanica–Prozor. Traffic for vehicles up to 3.5 tons is permitted on the Jablanica–Blidinje section.

At border crossings, delays for passenger vehicles are generally no longer than 30 minutes. Brčko border crossing is open for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while Karakaj border crossing prohibits traffic for trucks over 5 tons. They are being rerouted to Bratunac or Rača, while buses use Šepak border crossing. Trucks cross at Šepak border crossing during limited hours.
