Increased traffic intensity, possible queues at border crossings due to new EU entry system

(Patria) - Roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina are mostly passable and traffic is moving under favorable weather conditions. Increased traffic intensity is expected at the beginning of the work week, as well as on the approaches to cities.

BIHAMK appeals for a higher degree of caution when passing through school zones. Repair works are currently underway on several sections across Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to which traffic is adjusted to temporary traffic signals, so drivers are urged to exercise additional caution in these zones.

On the Tuzla-Bijeljina main road (Banj Brdo), passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons are using one lane alternately, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

Movement of all vehicles over the bridge on the Dobro Polje-Miljevina main road is prohibited. Vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons can use the roads over Grepak or Kalinovik (there is 19 km of macadam road), while trucks must use the roads via Rogatica and Ustipraca.

Traffic is slow and single-lane on the Zvornik-Priboj regional road (in Goduš).

Due to regular servicing of the tunnel tube on the Ivan tunnel (Bradina-Tarčin direction), the entrance to the A-1 motorway at the Bradina toll station has been closed since 8 AM. The entrance to the motorway is redirected to the Tarčin toll station.

Due to necessary repair works on the Kakanj-Lašva section of the A-1 motorway, the left side of the motorway is closed for a length of 3 km. During the works, vehicles are directed to use both lanes in a two-way traffic system on the right side, in the Lašva-Kakanj direction.

Due to necessary works on the Sarajevo North-Podlugovi and Sarajevo West-Lepenica sections of the A-1 motorway, traffic has been redirected to the overtaking lane.

Due to repair works on expansion joints on the bridge on the M-17 Konjic-Tarčin main road (before the Bradina tunnel), traffic has been redirected from the driving lane to the overtaking lane.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

Long queues of vehicles are observed at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Kostajnica, Kozarska Dubica, Gradina, Gradiška, and Brod. At other border crossings, waiting times are up to 30 minutes.

Due to passenger registration under the new system for entering and exiting European Union countries (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing will be open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.

On the occasion of Orthodox Easter, the transport of explosives in Bosnia and Herzegovina is prohibited until midnight tonight.
