Watch the video: Drivers run red lights, pedestrians cross streets risking their lives

The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton announced that in October 2014, one of the city's radars recorded 485 traffic violations by drivers, including 413 violations under Article 44, Paragraph 1 of the ZOOBS (speeding) and 72 violations under Article 51, Paragraph 1 (running a red light), reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

As stated, the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton is taking all necessary measures and actions to prevent and sanction such irresponsible behavior of traffic participants, but it is also necessary that all traffic participants, drivers and pedestrians, by respecting traffic regulations, protect primarily themselves and their fellow citizens, and thus contribute to improving the safety situation in this area.

As an illustration of the appeal to traffic participants, the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton has posted a video recorded by police officers in recent days at several intersections in the city, showing pedestrians crossing streets and intersections in an improper and extremely risky manner, thereby endangering their own health and lives as well as those of other traffic participants.

We remind you that in recent days, several horrific traffic accidents have been recorded, in which one person died and several were seriously and lightly injured.
