See the beautiful models and drawings of Efendi Cifrić from Srednja Trnova near Ugljevik

Mujaga Cifrić (30), imam in Srednja Trnova near Ugljevik, belongs to a generation of young spiritual teachers in this town in eastern Bosnia, who express the beauty of faith not only in traditional ways. This handsome imam demonstrates God's power through beautiful drawings of religious buildings and nature, through calligraphy and interesting models, as well as through drawings of the crests of favorite football clubs.

The gift for beautiful expression through art for Ef. Cifrić is something that the Lord Himself instills in people. And, since, he says, the Almighty chose him to be one of the bearers of that gift, he wants to use it in the best way and, clearly, he says, primarily in the service of faith.

- I use my free time for drawing. That is the time when I rest and enjoy – says Ef. Cifrić for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

- Sometimes I make wooden models, and sometimes I paint, depending on my mood and need at that moment – he adds. Ef. Cifrić writes levhas, makes models of mosques, but he also made the crest of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team as well as the crest of his favorite club, Arsenal.

For this young efendi, the greatest satisfaction in his artistic work comes from the support of other fellow imams.

- Before the ceremonial opening of the Atik Mosque in Bijeljina, an exhibition of my paintings was held, which depicted the Atik Mosque, the shadirvan, and other details from this national monument in Bijeljina. I am very proud of that – says Ef. Cifrić for NAP.
