See how the work is progressing at the Southern Longitudinal construction site

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Adnan Šteta and Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality Benjamina Karić today, together with the Director of the KS Roads Directorate Selmir Kovač and representatives of the contractors, visited the Southern Longitudinal construction site.



- The Southern Longitudinal is a capital project that will significantly contribute to the safety of all road users and reduce traffic congestion. A large number of vehicles, including public transport, use this road.

There are challenges on this project, as with most projects, but all are being addressed for the benefit of all citizens of Sarajevo Canton - said Šteta.



The pace of work is satisfactory, despite all the challenges the contractor is facing on the ground.

Before the start of the roundabout construction, works were carried out in the previous period on replacing underground installations, drainage, building service roads, and many others.



Various types of works are being carried out on this project, which is extremely complex and requires the maximum involvement of all parties throughout its duration. The project also includes works on complete traffic signaling and lighting.



- To our great satisfaction, we are realizing an important project in our municipality that will benefit all citizens, especially those living in Novo Sarajevo. I thank the Ministry of Transport, led by Minister Šteta, for the investment and cooperation so far.



We will continue to act together and bring major capital projects to our municipality. I am proud that another project, the construction of the south stand, is being realized immediately near this capital project, making our municipality the largest construction site in KS, and we are continuing in that direction - said Mayor Karić.



During the visit, it was emphasized that after the completion of the works on this section, the project will continue from the roundabout towards Kovačići, as infrastructure development leaves lasting value for everyone.
