Podžić: Ivanić publicly admitted to misusing BiH Armed Forces to prove to Dodik he is not a traitor!

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić misused members of the BiH Armed Forces for political purposes, thereby violating Article 5 of the BiH Defense Law.

He directly admitted this in an interview given on Face TV. This was stated for the Patria News Agency by the president of the Joint Commission for Defense and Security, Sifet Podžić, writes Patria.  

- Article 5 states: “The Armed Forces cannot be used for political purposes or for the activities of political parties.” Mr. Ivanić admitted that he was under pressure from Milorad Dodik, and in order not to be declared a traitor by him, he decided to parade members of the Third (Republika Srpska) Regiment, even though he had no legal right, nor jurisdiction, nor authority to do so. It is completely justified that the BiH Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into January 9th, explains Podžić.

And what did Ivanić say on Face TV:  

- I performed an act that was very risky. I had those from Banja Luka, the authorities, who were praying that there would be no army and that we from the Alliance for Change would be declared traitors. On the other hand, institutions in Sarajevo saw any attempt to involve the Armed Forces there as a coup d'état, and NATO was watching all of this.

You have to think about what would have happened if I hadn't done it. Imagine a Serbian soldier who needs to return to his community tomorrow and be asked, why weren't you there? Because Izetbegović asked for it?
