Podžić spoke with the Chairman of the EU Military Committee

The Chairman of the Joint Defence and Security Committee of BiH Sifet Podžić met today in Sarajevo with the Chairman of the Military Committee of the European Union (EU) General Mikhail Kostarakos, with whom he discussed the activities of the Joint Committee in the field of parliamentary oversight in the defence and security sectors, reports the Patria News Agency.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Commander of EUFOR in BiH Major General Johann Luif, as well as Generals Gunter Hofler, Lazslo Domjan and David Humar, opinions were exchanged on the state of the defence and security sector in BiH, the process of registering prospective military assets, as well as on the drafting of the documents "Defence Review" and "Security Policy of BiH".

The process of destroying surplus obsolete ammunition and the security challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina were also discussed.

The Chairman of the EU Military Committee, General Mikhail Kostarakos, expressed interest in numerous issues within the scope of the Joint Defence and Security Committee of BiH.

The interlocutors jointly emphasized the significant contribution of EUFOR in building the capacities and capabilities of the Armed Forces of BiH, and expressed their commitment to working together on creating prerequisites and meeting the standards that lead our country towards Euro-Atlantic integration.
