A deception and the mantra 'one state, two entities and three constituent peoples'

(Patria) - „One state, two entities and three constituent peoples“ is a mantra that official Zagreb has been trying to foist on European Union policy for some time as a kind of model for the survival of Bosnia and Herzegovina based on the constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement. 

The only state within the European Union that has so far used this formulation, behind which lies an attempt to legitimise the division of BiH into three parts, is Orban's Hungary. 

The mantra of the „holy trinity“ of peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not only dangerous, unconstitutional and discriminatory, it is in every sense and part contrary to basic European principles, and its advocacy should meet with condemnation from Brussels, the institutions of the European Union and all member states. 

Aside from the fact that the Constitutional Court of BiH has established that, together with Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats, all other citizens of BiH are constituent throughout the territory – this attempt by Croatia, and recently Hungary, to secure changes to regulations in BiH that would give members of the three peoples greater rights compared to those who are not members of these three peoples, is a brutal blow to democracy, European values and the legal introduction of discrimination against Roma, Jews, and all citizens who do not declare themselves as Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks.

With this mantra, which easily catches the ear and is a marketing trick, official Zagreb supports, affirms and advocates principles contrary to the European agenda, the Constitution of BiH, rulings of the European Court of Human Rights, and common sense.

If, along with the constitutional categories of one state and two entities, the unconstitutional category of „three constituent peoples“ is accepted, this will provide the basis for a triple division, not only of power, but also of territory, which is the obvious goal of a policy that falsely presents itself as European. 

The fact that official Zagreb is being followed in this absolutely anti-European agenda by Orban's Hungary, which has already been characterised as anti-European, undemocratic, populist and xenophobic, is the best indicator of how far Croatia, clearly under the influence of the corrupt politics of Bosnian Croats, has strayed from the European path. 

Instead of, as a European Union state, supporting equality, democracy, full rights for all citizens, and non-discrimination, Croatia has been caught in the web of the insatiable appetites of individuals who lead the largest party of Bosnian Croats, using Croatia and its position in the EU to secure just a few more seats for themselves.
