
(Patria) - By raising the flag and singing the anthem on Hum hill above Sarajevo, the marking of November 25, Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, began this morning.
The ceremony on Hum was attended by the Chairperson and members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karić, as well as representatives of the cantonal government.

Numerous delegations laid flowers at the "Eternal Flame" Memorial, and paid tribute to the martyrs and fallen soldiers at the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery and the grave of the first president of the independent Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegović.
Delegations will also visit the Great Park and the Memorial to the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo, and then the Vraca Memorial Park.

This is the date associated with the renewal of Bosnia and Herzegovina's statehood, as well as the idea of a modern and sovereign state, a common and indivisible homeland for all its equal peoples and citizens.

The statehood of BiH was renewed on November 25, 1943, in Mrkonjić Grad at the First Session of the State Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBiH), then the highest BiH political, representative, and legislative body.
