Material worth BAM 889,000 distributed to flood victims

The Federal Ministry for Refugees and Displaced Persons has so far distributed material worth BAM 889,604 to flood victims, said the relevant minister Adil Osmanović, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- Non-governmental organizations with whom we coordinated helped us, and they provided funds in the amount of BAM 343,000. The commodity reserves provided funds for seeds and fuel, which were distributed in Doboj, Vukosavlje, Odžak, Bijeljina – Osmanović stated.

He once again emphasized that after the floods, we have a new wave of displaced persons, and that most of them are accommodated with relatives, as collective centers are also nearing closure.

- We are surveying the area, and we are trying with the municipalities to pay the accommodation costs, but everything now depends on the funds from the Donor Conference and the establishment of the Fund for Assistance in order to start with the reconstruction – Osmanović said.

Osmanović reminded that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina prepared a package of laws to help and mitigate the consequences of the natural disaster, and that it provided BAM 5 million to 36 municipalities as an intervention.

- The priority is to provide people with shelter before winter – Osmanović said.
