Indictments filed against HVO and VRS members for war crimes

(Patria) - The BiH Prosecutor's Office has filed two indictments for war crimes in the Livno and Zvornik areas.

An indictment has been filed against Muhamed Ibrahimović, known as “Hamčo”*, born in 1965 in Sapna.
 
The accused is charged with acting contrary to the Geneva Conventions on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, in his capacity as commander of the HVO Livno Military Police, in the premises of an elementary school used as a camp for detained civilians of Serb nationality.
 
He is charged with crimes committed together with other members of the HVO, including torture, abuse,
beatings, and other inhumane acts against detained civilians, which resulted in the deaths of three civilians and permanent consequences for the physical and mental health of the detainees, thereby committing the criminal offense of War Crimes against the Civilian Population under Article 173 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office has also filed an indictment against Stevanović Radinko, known as “Raco”, born in 1972 in Loznica – Republic of Serbia, a citizen of BiH and the Republic of Serbia. The accused is charged with participating in the unlawful detention and murder of between 400 and 500 detained civilians of Bosniak nationality in the Technical School Center in Karakaj, in his capacity as a member of the III Battalion of the Zvornik Brigade of the VRS, as part of a widespread and systematic attack directed against the civilian population of Bosniak nationality in the Zvornik area and its surroundings in 1992.

The accused is charged with committing the criminal offense of Crimes Against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
