Indictment for crimes against humanity in Lješevo raised

(Patria) - The Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes has filed an indictment against Draškić Ranko, born in 1956 in Rogatica, and Manojlović Savo, born in 1967 in Višegrad.

The accused are charged with war crimes committed against the civilian population of Bosniak nationality in the area of Lješevo village, Ilijaš municipality, namely the unlawful abduction and murder of 20 civilians, as well as the attempted murder of 2 civilians, including women and elderly persons, who were shot and killed, and among whom were several members of the Avdukić, Fazlić, and Masnopita families.

Furthermore, the accused are charged with the persecution of several hundred people from the aforementioned area, as well as the population of Kadarići village, who were forcibly taken into detention in camps and detention facilities in Podlugovi and Ilijaš.

The accused are charged with personally participating in the abduction and murder of victims as direct perpetrators. The prosecution will prove the indictment's allegations by calling 48 witnesses, one expert witness, and by submitting more than 130 pieces of material evidence.

The accused are charged with the criminal offense of crimes against humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The indictment has been forwarded for confirmation to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has confirmed it.
