Indictment Filed Against Three Individuals for International Drug Smuggling

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against: Stjepan Lazarević, born in 1953 in Pale,  previously convicted, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bojan Segić, born in 1977 in Prnjavor, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Vlastimir Tomić, born in 1960 in Valjevo, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia.

The accused are charged with, in the period from March to May 2018,  conducting unauthorized international purchase and sale, transfer, transport, possession, mediation in further international sale, sending and delivery of the narcotic drug marijuana „skunk“, which they procured from the territory of Albania and distributed the drug to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria.

The indictment states that after procuring the narcotic drug, the accused Lazarević kept and stored the drug, while the accused Tomić found buyers for the narcotic drug and offered it for sale, and the accused Segić sold and delivered it to end customers.

According to the indictment, the accused on three occasions in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for agreed monetary amounts, arranged purchases and deliveries of the narcotic drug marijuana „skunk“ in a total quantity of about 15 kg.

Also, during a search of the family home of the accused Bojan Segić, 45 kilograms of stored foliar fertilizer – agrostemin were found and seized, with a market value of 32,857.94 BAM, which was smuggled without the necessary prescribed permits and customs control from the territory of Serbia to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by boat across the Drina River, by the accused Tomić, following a prior agreement with the accused Segić.

The accused are charged with the criminal offense of unauthorized trafficking in narcotic drugs under Article 195, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the accused Segić and Tomić also with the criminal offense of smuggling under Article 214, paragraphs 1 and 2, all in conjunction with Article 53 of the same Law.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
