Indictment filed against Radeljaš, Hadžić and others

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton has filed an indictment against Esed Radeljaš, Jamina Horo, Nedžad Kapetanović, Jusuf Čaušević and Damir Hadžić. The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton charges Esed Radeljaš with the criminal offenses of certifying false content, incitement to abuse of position, money laundering, and giving gifts or other forms of benefit, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Jasmina Horo is charged with the criminal offenses of abuse of position and money laundering, while Nedžad Kapetanović, Jusuf Čaušević and Damir Hadžić are charged with the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.

By the indictment of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo, they are accused of having, through abuse of official position, undertaken mutually connected actions by illegally conducting the procedure for allocating land to Esed Radeljaš. Subsequently, they illegally conducted the procedure for determining the amount of compensation for the expropriation of land that had previously been allocated to Radeljaš.

Damir Hadžić is charged with having illegally enabled the payment of over one million marks from the budget of the Novi Grad Municipality to Esed Radeljaš for land, which Radeljaš had paid to the Municipality in 2006 in the amount of 51,340.00 KM. By committing these criminal offenses, the budget of the Novi Grad Municipality was damaged in the amount of nearly one million marks.

The prosecuting attorney in the indictment has proposed to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo the imposition of a detention measure for Damir Hadžić, Esed Radeljaš and Jamina Horo, as well as the permanent confiscation of illegally acquired property, and a ban on performing positions and duties in the executive and legislative branches. The indictment has been forwarded to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo for confirmation.
