Indictment Filed Against Nermin Maslo Who Killed Josipa Knežević with His Car

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo today filed an indictment against Nermin Maslo (born 1987), who on October 31, 2014, at around 7:55 PM, while driving a BMW passenger vehicle on Zmaja od Bosne Street, struck pedestrians E.H. and Josipa Knežević, who later died from her injuries, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Maslo is charged with committing the criminal offense of Serious Criminal Offenses Against Public Traffic Safety under Article 336, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 332, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The prosecutor also proposed an extension of custody after the indictment is confirmed.

- Namely, from the evidence gathered during the investigation, it appears that the suspect Nermin Maslo is reasonably suspected of having committed the criminal offense of serious criminal offenses against public traffic safety under Article 336, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 332, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which a prison sentence of at least one year may be imposed, meaning that a sentence of up to ten years may be imposed for the said criminal offense, thus fulfilling the objective condition for extending the suspect's custody - the indictment states.
