Indictment Filed Against Enes Salkić for War Crime

The prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes filed an indictment against Enes Salkić, born in 1969 in Velika Kladuša, a citizen of BiH. The accused is charged with, during the war and armed conflict in the area of Velika Kladuša, between members of the 5th Corps of the Army of BiH and the NO AP Western Bosnia, acting as a reserve police officer of the SJB Velika Kladuša, acting contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the protection of civilian persons during war, by torturing, abusing and inhumanely treating civilians he considered to be sympathizers of the NO AP Western Bosnia, the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced.

He is charged with, in August 1995, singling out two victims, men of Bosniak nationality, whom he tortured, beat and inhumanely treated, inflicting severe physical and mental injuries, from which they still suffer consequences today.

The accused is charged with committing the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population under Article 173 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
