Indictment filed against Bubica, Oručević and others, no extension of custody requested

After the conclusion of the investigation, the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton filed an indictment against Nedžad Bubica, Fahrudin Oručević, Narcis Behlilović, Irfan Turković, Kenan Softić, Enes Begović and Lamija Maglić-Stajić. They are charged with the criminal offense of association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses, abuse of position or authority, abuse of assessment, and construction without a permit, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
 
The indictment of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office charges that in the period from 2011 to 2014, with the intention of obtaining property gain for the company "LAKE", owned by Nedžad Bubica, they concluded a contract for the renovation of the building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, which was scheduled for demolition, without a public procurement procedure. Without compensation, the works cost the company "LAKE" about 3 million marks. At the same time, in return, Nedžad Bubica was promised a plot of land of about 5,000 m2 worth 7 million and 400 KM.  
 
Through joint action and commission of these criminal offenses, they damaged the budget of Sarajevo Canton by about 4 million marks. 
 
The acting prosecutor, along with the indictment, proposed the lifting of the custody measure for Fahrudin Oručević, Narcis Behlilović, Irfan Turković and Kenan Softić, which was proposed and ordered due to obstruction of the investigation. Since the indictment has been filed, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office considers that the legal reasons for extending the custody measure have ceased at this stage. 

The indictment has been forwarded to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo for confirmation.
