Data for 2014: BiH received 770.60 million euros in aid

The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Report of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury "Overview of Donor Activities in 2014", which provides a comprehensive overview of projects and programs in 2014, financed by members of the Donor Coordination Forum (DFC), as well as an analysis of the situation and reforms being implemented within six sectors in BiH: judiciary and internal affairs; public administration reform; private sector development; transport and energy infrastructure, environmental protection and climate change; and the social development sector, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

A total of 770.60 million euros of official development assistance (ODA) was allocated in 2014, of which 199.63 million euros in the form of grants and 570.97 million euros in the form of loans.

ODA allocations in 2014 increased by 104.89 million euros compared to 2013, partly as a result of the rapid response of donors to the floods in May last year, with loans prevailing over grants.

The largest creditors were the European Investment Bank (EIB), the World Bank (WB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), while the European Union, Sweden/Sida, the United States/USAID, Germany, Switzerland and UNDP provided the most grants.

The largest percentage of international development assistance last year was allocated to the environmental protection and climate change sector at 39 percent, the transport and energy infrastructure sector at 22 percent and private sector development at 19 percent, while the smallest was in the social development sector at 13 percent.
