Work begins on tram line reconstruction from Nedžarići, changes in tram traffic

(Patria) - Work on the reconstruction of the tram line on its first section is expanding, so on Saturday, November 27, 2021, the reconstruction of the line from Nedžarići to RTV Dom begins.

Tram traffic will be suspended until Čengić Vila due to the organization of works, and passengers will be able to travel by buses from Ilidža, the number of which has been significantly increased.

On weekdays, buses will run from Ilidža to Čengić Vila every five minutes, on Saturdays every six, and on Sundays every nine minutes.

A new temporary line Nedžarići-Čengić Vila will also be operational, running every day.

The total number of buses on the Ilidža-Baščaršija route, including buses that will run to Čengić Vila, is 34.

For the safety of passengers and to prevent crossing the road during transfers to the tram, the road at Čengić Vila next to GRAS will be closed to all vehicles, except for the mentioned buses, and drivers will be informed of the change in regime and which road they can use by signage.

The number of tram vehicles from Čengić Vila will be increased, and trams will run every four minutes.

Coupons from both carriers will be valid in all vehicles, and a purchased ticket will be valid in both buses and trams.

The reconstruction of the tram line began on August 26, and in its first phase on the Ilidža-Nedžarići route, tests, excavations, embankments, drainage works have been carried out so far, documentation for materials has been collected, and it is time to continue the works on the first section from Ilidža to Remiza.

The planned completion of works for the Ilidža-Remiza section is May 2022.

The Ministry of Transport states that, for the first time in 60 years, we have such a large project that requires many changes for citizens and road users, which is why they ask for everyone's understanding so that we can have transportation in the near future similar to that in many European cities.
