Construction of a building with 20 housing units begins in the Municipality of Kakanj

(Patria) - Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Edin Ramić, together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Kakanj Aldin Šljivo, representatives of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Council of Europe Development Bank will tomorrow officially mark the start of construction works on a multi-residential building in the municipality of Kakanj, the construction of which is planned within the Sub-project BiH3 of the State Project for Housing Care/Regional Housing Programme.

This is a building with 20 housing units intended for accommodation of socially vulnerable families, refugees and displaced persons, based on the principle of social non-profit housing.

The value of the Contract for construction works on the multi-residential building in the municipality of Kakanj amounts to nearly 900,000 BAM, and the construction deadline is 10 months, announced by the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees.

Within the Regional Housing Programme, four sub-projects (BiH1, BiH2, BiH3 and BiH4) are being implemented in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under which about 390 houses (individual housing units) and seven multi-residential buildings have been built. Construction of three residential buildings is underway in the cities of Tuzla and Goražde, and the municipality of Jajce.

In 2019, within the first three sub-projects, it is planned to renovate and build 183 housing units in social housing buildings, while sub-project BiH4 will include the construction of 130 individual housing units, thus providing housing solutions for 313 socially vulnerable families, refugees and displaced persons. The estimated value of the necessary funds for the construction of these housing units in the current year amounts to nearly 11 million BAM.

Sub-projects BiH5 and BiH6, in the next year, plan the construction of 141 houses and 255 housing units in social housing buildings, worth 16.1 million BAM.
